It would really behoove someone with sway to start a mobilization effort to make cotton masks for the entire populous. Cotton mask can be reused and are relatively inexpensive.

The supermarkets appear to be the weakest link in the physical distancing strategy to flatten the curve, so perhaps stores should require masks. Japan & S Korea regularly wear masks when sick, and they’ve done a better job at flattening the curb compared to Western nations.

I can see this soon for people in public spaces in the U.S. Once there are enough masks to for the general population, it will be implemented.
