Sounds like the Kennedy Center has been mismanaging their finances for a while. Why the hell should we taxpayers rescue a mismanaged arts organization, let alone when thousands of Americans risk going hungry due to government-imposed shutdowns?

I'm absolutely shocked to hear the Kennedy Center President hired a lobbyist to secure the $25M. How much did they pay the lobbyist and how much to the Kennedy Center President?
-
Not shocked at all. Follow the money... What did Pelosi get?

If they can't even keep afloat with the money from taxpayers each year then they should close.. sorry but if whatever they are offering was valuable to the public they wouldn't need tax $..let alone stealing $ that could be used to help people struggling

Okay. Listened in entirety. What is loud and clear is that Kennedy Center is doing exactly what GOP senators were afraid of - laying off because the government is paying large unemployment benefits. This will be happening EVERYWHERE. That is worse than the $25M part of story.

I agree with the unemployment fear but the statement is somewhat off. My understanding is she felt less bad about laying people off because there is unemployment available. They don't have the capital to fund their entire staff. Their problem though not ours.
