.@nytimes has video from a hospital in Elmhurst, Queens. It is horrifying. “We had to get a refrigerated truck to store the bodies of patients who are dying.” “Five ventilators...there’s a mythical 100 ventilators out there that we haven’t seen.” https://www.nytimes.com/2020/03/25/nyregion/nyc-coronavirus-hospitals.amp.html … pic.twitter.com/JxKl46H5RC

Is this supposed to be a shocking video? Because a picture of five unused ventilators isn't.

There's such a shortage that they have those ventilators sitting idle in a hallway. In an emergency situation, those vents would have patients attached to them.

I'm sorry but how is that "overstretched"? It looks BUSY, I've been in ER's more chaotic than that on a normal day.

I used to work in a New York City hospital almost two decades ago. Trust me it has been just as bad for the last 20 years. In fact worse because the population has gone up and the infrastructure has degraded.

I’ve seen single ICU’s with more than 5 ventilators. If this hospital only has 5, that’s a management issue not a government short coming.

These people are delusional..... come and see hospitals in Eastern Europe.... I am going to dig out some images from my town. Americans have no idea how outstanding their healthcare is. Common people...get real. 😳

Americans' lack of awareness of how good we have it in comparison to the rest of world is incredible. Not living in the US much of the time, I am continually in awe of my country.
