Cubicles are bad, undeniably so, the one thing worse than them is open office spaces. They completely strip you of the modicum of dignity of having even a cubicle while exposing you to other people's germs and horrific noise pollution. It is the ultimate in dehumanization.

A friend owns a small accounting firm. A few years ago, he gave his employees the option of working in the office, or working from home. More than half chose to work from home, and surprisingly, it was the older set. He now has a smaller office, lower rent, and happy workers.

Any company that does fine with people working remotely, should continue doing so, and never go back.

I think you could definitely have a staggered workforce. Groups come in two days a week and they all use the same work space. Saves on rent and you still get your face to face time with your team.

I have been moving small and medium sized business to a work from home model all week. The employees are loving it.

I have always found certain duties are more effective when allowed to be supported from a home office. Customer service, dispatching, telesales, and so many other functions!
