Ok. I checked it out and I have it too. Hubby has a white noise machine on his night stand and so do I. I can hear noises nobody else can. The worst is people opening cellophane candy wrappers in church SLOWLY thinking that makes it better!

Never thought I'd hear someone else tell me they have misophonia. I can hear the water flowing in the fish tank downstairs, people walking in the distance, and rustling of leaves. Some of it makes me upset or angry. Did yours start after you became sober?

Mine started as a teenager. Mostly I don’t discuss it, because people you’re bs’ing and deliberately make those noises around you. I once heard a man chewing gum from across a perking lot...

I can hear a car blocks away before it even gets on my street. I can hear dogs barking miles away. I hear car noises that drive me crazy. Hubby hears none of it.

I have that too. It drives me crazy. No relief ever. Also have misophonia. Can’t stand gum chewing/popping and repetitive sounds like a ticking clock. Have you tried a hearing aid for the tinnitus?
