        Not Catholic, but one step away....Methodist. I am giving up PLENTY. I love Lent and always push myself to give up things I will really miss. What I [and many Methodists] do is also TAKE ON something, like volunteering and giving back to the community. #Lent

        My suggestion as a non-denominational would be to just give up the Catholic church, and read the Bible and worship in an alternative gathering.

        Many of us protestants practice Lent. I haven't decided what I'm giving up yet. I like to pray and meditate on it until the Tuesday before. Because I didn't participate last year, I want this year to be very difficult. Spiritually renewing!
