BTW all the "President's Day" sales I've seen this year are BS. I've compiled a fairly decent "big appliance" price matrix the last month or so. Now the so-called "sales" -- guess what? It's not a true "sale"; the same prices were available a month ago and sometimes BETTER!

I have zero credit debt. Pay it off every month. Don’t buy Un needed things. Save for a vacation.

Lots of reasonable points being made in this thread. My question is, if one lives essentially a cash only lifestyle, how does your credit profile get established? At some point you have to buy on credit (house for example) and having almost no credit history seems unhelpful.
