I concur. We used to be called "Gen Y" but then got lumped in with Millennials. I don't feel or act like a millennial, because I am not one.

You can't invent a generation. That's not how it works. And a generation can't just be like 10 years wide.

Generations are purely based on events that shape a grouping of individuals differently than the groups on either side of them. So yes generations can be separated and created at anytime.
