Stories reflect cultures. It's why anime never has resolution. Christian culture creates stories with heroes, struggle, then resolution-it's our story in this world. Buddhists do not, theirs is an ongoing struggle that goes on and on until it fades away.

Hmmm, I'm not a anime connoisseur or anything, but I can't think of many (any?) popular anime shows with plots built around whodunit - It's always them painstakingly building up and selling you on why someone did this horrible thing or that heroic deed.
