I was talking to another intel analyst once about what would happen if there were a future conflict in America along a civil vs rural fault line and he said, "Well cities would starve bc they cant feed themselves" And then I reminded him that cities have gangs

No one will let themselves starve. They’ll band together into a fighting force and raid settlements and farms.

It's fine, gangs can rule the cities, no supplies will be coming, we can wait them out.

We’ve wargamed these scenarios. The chaos and destruction that envelopes a densely populated area is typically quite severe. In a complete breakdown of civil order, getting out of the metros is significantly more difficult once services are suspended. 2/5ths death rate in 6mo.

Furthermore, surrounding suburbs will absorb & repel the majority of invaders, as those communities are typically close enough to organize, & are generally better prepared (more supplies/firearms). Setup of hasty choke points will limit city ex filtration.

With that statement I'm reminded that it was farmers that defeated one of the greatest military powers of their day.

Thank you. Do they really think country farmers can't take out city gangs on their own turf? A gang will win w/home field advantage, but put them out on a farmer's land and it'll be Deliverance time. (Without the sqeal like a pig thing. Well, some, maybe with...)

Rurals areas have things called militias. Also gangs would go after one another.
