if you know it is evidentiary and that's the reason you may be committing a crime in America. I imagine it's similar in Brazil.

You'd need intent + an underlying crime for that

No. But, to delete texts was just part of a long editing actions Greenwald used to intentionally manipulate illegal messages to produce fake news against politicians in our country. And he hired the hackers in a big scheme involving his “husband” in a political nomination.

Does it mean that if a thief goes into your house and your neighbor guides him where he should go, he has not committed any crime?

It might be, depending on the context. If one does that to evade from investigation on a criminal organization, it is a crime (obstruction, under art. 2nd, paragraph 1st, of Federal Statute - Lei n. 12.850/2013). There are also other possibilities, in thesis at least.

Isn't instructing someone how to evade law to hack high personal on federal admnistration and then destroying the evidences of those conversations a crime in America?

Maybe. Is helping someone from getting caught aiding and abetting a crime? If you hid J. W. Boothe in your house after Lincoln's murder would you be an accessory to the murder?

Advising them on what to do and then telling them to destroy evidence is 100% against the law.
