Yes. My mom found out who her biological dad was. It was kept a family secret for many years.

Yep. My wife was contacted by a woman who said she thought she was her half sister. She is 2 years older than my wife, and apparently was born while wife's dad was engaged to marry her mom. Awkward.

A friend of mine was contacted by a woman who leaned through her DNA test that she was his cousin. She always suspected it because she said she looked nothing like her dad and brother. Now she shows up to their family gatherings, and hasn't told her parents about it.

Adoptees and others are using DNA to find their bio families. Some people test and then learn there are secrets. I help all of the above make sense of their results, find their families and make contact. IMO DNA testing has helped more than hurt.

Yes. I discovered a half sister my mother never told me about having before marrying my father and having me.
