As someone with Czech heritage, I admire the Polish resistance. Some Czechs did resist NAZI occupation, but most submitted.

Guess there is no appreciation for all the Poles that helped the Jews and died while doing it. Seems it was all one sided right?

Jack, WWII is very simple, French and British F***** up in 1939 preventing war to be finished by the end of 1939, thus enabling Germany to destroy Europe. Everything else is derive from this inaction in western front in September 1939..

Similar phenomenon in Hungary. There were many, many ethnic Germans in the army, who led a push for closer cooperation with Nazi Germany, and were in opposition to the more conservative/aristocratic government at the time.

Germans lived across all of Eastern Europe beforehand. Koningsburg now Kaliningrad used to be East Prussia and the home city of the modern Germans now its a almost purely Russian city. Cultural boundaries shifted a lot after WW2.
