This may well be one of the best metaphors for the state of California. They're so plugged into the environment that they forgot to plug in to an outlet. California: 0 Criminals: 6896658

Takes forever & a day (literally ~10 hours) to fully charge the car at the station. Even at “supercharging”, talking close to an hour. Why $tsla keeps introducing entertainment functions. Point being, Police need cars for more than one shift. Tesla cars can’t do that = fail

Wait until there is a natural disaster (CA is ripe for an earthquake) and no one can charge their electric cars for weeks because the power is out.

That is a poorly written article based on a well-done article that came out days prior that involved a reporter actually reporting. How about sharing that one instead?https://twitter.com/josephgeha16/status/1176625352493256704 …

The last thing a police officer trying to chase down a suspect in a high-speed pursuit needs to see is a warning that their patrol car is running low on gas — or on battery juice. But that’s how it went down Friday night in Fremont — in a Tesla no less. https://www.eastbaytimes.com/2019/09/24/fremont-police-tesla-runs-low-on-juice-during-high-speed-chase/ …

Takes 2 minutes to dump some gas in the tank. Takes a good hour to juice a Tesla as much. Using electric cars to chase criminals is like shooting blanks at criminals. Hard pass.

I wouldn't drive an overpriced RC car, but it is correct in that ANY vehicle could have run out of fuel, be it electric or gas. However, any intelligent officer would have made sure to fix that problem, either by filling up the tank OR getting a different vehicle at shift start.
