Awesome... where do I sign up? I had four kids in less than 6 years... I’d basically be getting paid half a decade with no work

I'd say that being home with the kids is in no way "no work"

It would be better if Americans’ tax burdens and costs of living (which are artificially inflated by taxes and over regulation) weren’t so high that both parents have to work in most families.

In Estonia it's either 18 or 15 months, full pay and either of the parent can use it. 15 is when the mother has a job, then she will get additional 4,6 months of full pay leave from the job, divided before and after giving birth.
-
And from next year the dad will have 30 days (now they get only 10) of full paid leave, just for the dad to use.

A year is excessive but we should be doing better than 6 weeks.

I’m not trying to say what I do can’t be done by others I work w/ but my employer would have to replace me after a while. It is unsustainable to think my coworkers could burden my load for that long. This will just discourage employers from hiring women in their childbearing yrs
