It is true, and not surprising. Many professing “Christians” used passages from the Bible to not only justify slavery but argue for the benefits of it. Then you have men like Patrick Henry, Founding Father, slave owner and abolitionist, used the Bible to teach slaves to read.

I can’t read the article so this is a response to the title. To add, abolitionists argued the Bible supported the end of slavery, with which I absolutely agree.
