The IS bombing in Kabul will be the norm if we withdraw from Afghanistan without a peace plan that includes all parties. If not, the sheer violence of the 1990s Afghan civil war will reignite as soon as we leave, and another terrorist safe haven appears. https://www.militarytimes.com/flashpoints/2019/08/16/analysis-suggests-warlords-in-afghanistan-are-bracing-for-civil-war-once-us-nato-troops-exit/ …

We've squandered enough blood and treasure on Pashto-speaking hill-people. Let them sort out their own problems. We have ours, and they are no threat to us here at home. We Texans have to get Crenshaw out of office. I will back any real conservative in a primary.

I think people who want to police the globe can fund their own private army an pay for it themselves.

Completely agree that 1 reality is we've jacked things up so badly there that pulling out will be a disaster. A 2nd reality is that voters, correctly, will no longer put up w/this & will demand we leave. Either way we're mostly leaving; best do it sooner & more on our own terms.

If we would have responded to 9/11 with the 35 minute response it warranted, we wouldn't have these problems in the Middle East.

Don't withdraw. The solution is simple, but undemocratic. (1) 200,000 troop force surge. (2) Forcefully vacate villages under 10,000 people into bigger cities. (3) make Afghanistan pay for it.

The Taliban will agree to anything to get rid of American presence then they will take over and resume executions of women in the soccer stadium. Girls will be forbidden to go to school. Do we really want to be the cause of that resurgence?
