I don’t recall any comments about the “deplorables” being the victims. Most of the comments were pointing out that the political environment is getting violent and a movie that depicts such violence, especially after mass shootings is not a great idea. I could be wrong though

For me, that wasn't the point. My objection was the movie's premiere on the heels of 2 mass shootings. Regardless of who were the good guys or bad guys, a film surrounding humans hunting others for sport is just too dark right now. I'm still haunted by the 1988 film Betrayed.
