        He must have just watched "Bowling for Columbine" again and actually believed the scene where that fat fraud Michael Moore showed how if you walk into a random local business(it was a bank in the movie) you can just walk out with a new gun without a background check was real.

        In reality the bank had a promotion where if someone opened a new account they received a coupon they could take to a local gun shop and redeem for a new rifle, after they completed the required paperwork and had the standard background check.
