TNG taught me that Progressive Socialism can work as long as we have infinite energy, God level technology and human nature doesn’t exist anymore.
-
I'm feeling surprised that Futurama taught me none of this

Which is ironic given the fact that the only way it could function even in that universe is with a source of near-infinite free energy on demand at the touch of a button. Somehow liberals ignored this crucial part.

The pusuit of wealth and material has been eliminated in the 23rd century but the Picards still own the family winery in France?

It WOULD work if we had replicator machines eliminating all material needs, and medical technology for nearly instantaneous healing (eg, Dr. McCoy's "instant kidney" pills). But until then .... nope. Socialism is doomed.
-
Still wouldn't work bc any time government gets total power over resources it becomes wholly corrupt.
