This is actually one of the main reasons why Russian Empire never supported slavery. Turks have been involved in Slavic people slave trade too. They were mostly doing it via tartars with Crimea being their last outpost. So Crimea was also matter of liberation from that ordeal.

The Crimean Tatars enslaved millions of Slavs until the Khanate was defeated by Russia in the late 1700s. But it's a footnote in history at best now. More like actively concealed.

Ireland back in the 1500’s was invaded by Spain and many stayed and married Irish woman. Also sailors from Arab countries settled in Ireland. Ireland’s history is very interesting.

There is a tribe of Native Americans in Canada called the Slave Indians. Because other tribes tended to raid the Slave bands for the slaves they used.
