My biggest pet peeve about historical fiction, having characters from hundreds of years ago use the words and phrases of 21st cen. In this case, they won't even bother to dial back the language to thirty years ago.

Think of it as overdubbing so current viewers can understand

An interesting experiment is to watch an early season episode of Survivor, versus a modern episode of the show. Amazing to see how different people talk and act in just 18 years. It's quite the anthropological artifact

That show has been on 18 years?

I can't figure out if they are living in a small town or a city. The chief of police lives in a wood cabin, and lots of the scenes happen in wooded areas. But there's a large mall and a huge power-plant, and a large modem swimming pool!

The only realistic part of the show- that’s just how us Hoosiers get down, don’t bother trying to figure us out

I wasn’t all too interested in Season 2. I actually don’t even remember how it ended. Not sure when I’ll start watching Season 3. I’ve been sidetracked by Black Spot.

Never understood the hype. Like most Netflix content, it's writing is disjointed and jejune. By Season 2, Wynona's overacting got unbearable.
-
It’s definitely jejune. Right
