I put support because it's a protected act.

I wouldn't make friends with someone who burned the flag. But I also wouldn't make friends with someone who failed to understand our constitutional rights to free expression, however repugnant.

The internal tension of this debate is what makes it such a good one

The poll doesn't get to the heart of the issue. I don't support burning the flag, but I support the right to free speech-- including burning the flag. Huge distinction.

Support free speech. I think I’m gonna institute a flag burning moment on my show every week and burn
flags I hate on camera. Hint: this
isn’t one of them.Thanks. Twitter will use this to make your timeline better. UndoUndo

I think that if you framed and reworded it differently you would get different results for the same essential question.

This question doesn’t get to the heart of the issue. One can certainly support it as a constitutional/free speech right while despising doing it. Like libertarians support the right to do meth, but they don’t “support” doing meth.

I can't answer. I don't support flag burning but I do support the right to burn the flag.
