Father Paul Kalchik, the pastor of Resurrection Parish, in Chicago was removed abruptly for burning a rainbow pride flag, after outcry from local left-wing activists, including the lesbian who’s now Chicago’s mayor-elect, Lori Lightfoot. So, there are flags that can’t be burned.

It’s not a good law. Standing up for freedom of expression for those we dislike is what’s important. Otherwise, we’re no better than the people we fight against.

PUBLIC DISRESPECT,DESTRUCTION,OFFENCE,ABUSE,OUTRAGE,etc of a Nation Flag is NOT freedom of expression. Like offence or threat or outrage of a public officer is NOT free speech. Very easy to understand. In Italy it's a crime, since 1930.

It's a dead law. I can't remember it being exercised even once, though I did see one or two cases of disrespecting the flag.

I'm pretty sure in most cities and blue states burning a Pride or Islamic flag would be considered a hate crime.
