C.S. Lewis believed pride to be the most destructive sin of all. The more I go through life, the more truth I see in that assertion.

"Excessive belief" and "Christian" usually go hand and hand

Pride is not a virtue, and one doesn't need to subscribe to a formal religion to know its harmful nature as a sin. A psychologist can go through the Seven Deadly Sins and illustrate their detrimental nature with the most universally understood psychology.
-
Nothing good comes from pride. It is detrimental to the self, and very off-putting to other people.

So your faith should make you against Straight Pride too. Hopefully you've asked for forgiveness for your pride in your nationality. https://twitter.com/JackPosobiec/status/1049860547318083585 … https://twitter.com/JackPosobiec/status/994575656372592640 … https://twitter.com/JackPosobiec/status/1012900508430946306 … https://twitter.com/JackPosobiec/status/1074173516394758148 …https://twitter.com/JackPosobiec/status/1063012794646388736 …

Pride is not about “we are better or full of ourselves”. It’s when family members make us feel ashamed of who we are, Pride is saying there’s nothing to be ashamed of, be proud of who you are.
-
By all means, don't be ashamed to be gay. Just don't let it be what solely defines who you are as an individual, though. Honestly, pride should be reserved for an individual's accomplishments. But that's just my opinion. "Pride" has many definitions anymore.

I love listening to statements that start with, “as a Christian”
-
Comments that start with "as a Christian" are usually the most un-christian things you'll hear/read lol
