So would you agree that our continued presence in Afghanistan, Iraq, Kuwait, the Horn of Africa, etc. is a drain on our resources and a sacrifice of our heroes?

Tough question but one that should be discussed. Does being in those countries play a major strategic role for US security? If we aren't there trying to nation build or spread democracy but instead are there to keep groups like ISIS from proliferating, I'd say it's not a drain.

As a retired Naval Officer, I totally agree. We are no further ahead in Afghanistan than at the start of our involvement. Too many senior military and civilian contractors benefit from war.

Afghanistan or The Region Has Been At War With Invaders For Over A Thousand Years & Never Been Taken , Russia Got Their Asses Kicked For 30 Years, We Will Eventually Leave The Land Will Heal & The Mugahadeen Will Remain

As a veteran I kmow that America’s national security is best served by not creating crisis around the world for money interests and harming others. Anyone claiming THEY are “as pro military as it gets” because of a rank, never inderstood what military service is about.

As a Veteran who wore the uniform for 13 years and went from missiles to medical with a VA career I completely agree. Always prepared and vigilant defensively is good strategy but stirring up the shit just gets people needlessly killed and chronically wounded.
