If I were leading the Night’s Watch, I would go full northern Reconquista. Work with the Wildlings to establish a series of keeps and fortresses deeper into the north stockpiled with obsidian, over the next 100-odd years, you’ve got time to do it right.

This 1) fortifies the north instead of trying to do a Great Wall defense, which failed horribly. 2) Introduces the concept of territory and feudalism to the Wildlings, which should curb their raiding tendencies. 3) The White Walkers apparently suck at assaulting castles.
