Arya being a Mary Sue has nothing to do with training or gender It has to do with her defeating a whole army with one blow in a war the entire show had been building up to and throwing out years of Beyond the Wall plot If Gendry had done that it would have been just as dumb

Dany and Jon joining forces to defeat the Night's King would have fulfilled this narrative arc, whether at Winterfell or in King's Landing. However, D&D decided to reduce their writing to tumblr-fanfic levels and have Arya jump out of a tree to save the day Deux ex Mary Sue

I like that Jon didn't kill the Night King. It was too predictable and GoT loves curve balls which is why we love it - but I'm with you on the Mary Sue teleport being lame. Also, WTF was Bran doing all ep?!

this story telling fiasco is replaying itself from Hollywood to cable to streaming. all the PC, SJW writers sit around a table thinking of ways to shoe horn a social justice sermon into every character. remember LOTR final, "I am no man!" it was creeping in even back then.
