And he fled to Egypt, which was still part of the Roman Empire, like Israel and Judea, so still not an illegal immigrant. That'd be like fleeing from England to Scotland.

It amazes me that anyone would listen to a actor for anything. They are by definition bullshiting their way thru life.

Obviously he has never read any of the Gospels, but especially Luke 2.

This was the first census that took place while Quirinius was governor of Syria. And everyone went to his own town to register. So Joseph also went up from the town of Nazareth in Galilee to Judea, to Bethlehem the town of David, because he belonged tothe house andline ofDavid.

And He didn’t stay in Bethlehem. He moved back to Nazareth with His parents after the census was completed (and after crazy King “Kill all baby boys under the age of two” Herod died). I’m guessing Mark Ruffalo doesn’t really read for understanding though.

Pastor Mark might mean when the Holy Family fled to Egypt to avoid the wrath of King Herod. Matthew 2:13-23
