Star Wars had to throw in a lot of fan service after the train wreck of the last one in terms of storytelling

We knew it would be a Charlie Foxtrot when Disney bought the franchise but no one knew it would be this much of a disaster both artistically and financially

People aren’t buying the merchandise like they used to, kids aren’t as into their parents movies as they are Avengers. And merchandise is where the profits are made. Disney is extremely overleveraged in this, especially with the new SW park opening

So, instead of an interesting original story, we are getting rehashed and recycled products from the 1970s in attempt to financially stabilize the leviathan

The bottom line? Star Wars movies will not be the profit engine for Disney they thought they would. A lot of this is also due to oversaturation of the market and increased competition for eyeballs They will keep making movies for the super fans, and they will do ok but thats it

As my friend even said “this trailer just feels like stuff I’ve already seen before” there’s no energy, no spirit, no creative spark of innovation And they are going to SJWize it

As I always say: There are only three Star Wars movies And a whole lot of fanfiction /END

PS: All we wanted was the heroes to go on one last adventure together and hand it off to the next generation. This wasn’t hard. You blew it.

You also can't forget jack that there were 2 video games released during this time. The first one (battlefront 2015) wasn't too bad but plagued by bad decisions. Battlefront 2017 on the other hand basically killed off a good part of the fanbase who would've bought stuff
