Biggest mistake I made. Later this year finally pay off that student loan so excited. Unless you are looking to go into high profession such as; Doctor, Lawyer. Wish I would have learned a trade instead. College basically paying for an experience not always education.

An 18 year old high school graduate is probably better off learning a TRADE, like plumbing or electrical. You will be hired by the "college graduates" who will NEED your skills & they will be willing to pay you a lot of $ to fix their home problems.

It wasn't for me, but building a resume with military, and certifications works in the IT field. Well, military isn't for everyone either.

I quit college after 1 semester because I wasn't learning anything and figured I was wasting my money. I made decent money my whole life

It's not for everyone, but it helped me get out of a dead end job in KS.

To me, that's the underlying point. Most right out of high school have no idea what they want, nor have they researched the job opportunities, and often they end up with a ton of debt without a solid job. Shit I went in my 30s and changed my major twice.
