I have an immigrant friend who came to the US and got his CDL within one week. He used to drive a truck back in Poland. Within his first year here he'd bought a house and his own truckhttps://twitter.com/jdb240/status/1115382811748380672 …

My brother retired from lineman Verizon job & got his CDL. He had a great time transporting racehorses since he knew horses. A wonderful job.

Where I live, a large agri business company literally can’t fill their driving positions because no one can pass a drug test. 60k plus starting and home every night.

Yes, it’s a good paying career and is easily attainable. With this booming economy it makes even more sense. No excuses for anyone.

Many of the trucking companies hire illegals which has made the payment and the competition for loads worse. My brother in law used to make $70,000+ a year over 25 yrs ago ..now they can barely break $40,000. Crappy loads and wait times.
