How can it be "safe from meltdown"?

Same as your couch. Neither have the inherent design to melt down. If someone bombed it, radiation would escape, but be limited to a mile or a few.

Personal I believe that Climate Change is a Hoax..., That said, Nuclear power is cheap and efficient. This GenVI could address the Nuclear waste issue, another positive. Gets a thumbs up
from me....

My electrical engineer/PE father retired from a career with the power company. Took us on tours of nuclear power plants and educated us about the benefits of clean nuclear power. He is a huge fan. Severely flawed design and human error causes meltdowns. Kinda like libs today.

I have a question on the “radioactive for 100,000 years” angle. A nuclear engineering student once told me that that was not entirely accurate. He said it was highly radioactive for the first few years (less than 10, I don’t recall); but after that no more radiation than a tv.
