It's called UBI or Universal Basic Income. And most models don't give everyone money. There is usually some sort of means testing tied to a progressive disbursement schedule. The more you make at a job the less you get from the government. 1/2

Not all the money would come from taxes. With an income source, the very poor would not need food stamps, housing assistance and the like, and so would free up a lot of gov't spending. Additionally, almost all the money would get dumped back into the economy and boost GDP/taxbase
