If you claim you’re a veteran of a war you didn’t fight in, it doesn’t make you special, it makes you a scumbag

Stolen valor act 2013, its a federal crime if he got $ by saying that or any kickback due to it, this should be looked into!

A GoFundMe campaign was set up on the pretext of his veteran status. https://www.gofundme.com/fundraiser-for-native-vietnam-vet-nathan-phillips … Methinks there's merit behind reporting that campaign.

Any form of military service, if done well, is worthy of respect. It’s about serving one’s country, one’s nation, not our pride. If someone feels the need to lie about their service to make themselves look better, you’d better believe they’d lie about other things too.

He didn't. His phrase, "Viet Nam times veteran", is clumsy, should have been "Viet Nam era veteran", meaning he was in uniform at the time, but not in country of conflict. Can't promise this is true, but he isn't claiming to have fought there.

He sure did. He mixes his language on purpose. He fundraised on his Vietnam "service."

This is probably too much PII for tweeter. I still feel uncomfortable when people call me a Veteran when I tell them I was in SeaBees from 86 to 95, but never active during Desert Storm or Shield. I have no idea what my fellow sailors went through

And that’s what we’ve been saying about Trump. Nathan is a VET. He Served. He is a Marine. Verified. And it was during Vietnam. Verified. Only misnomer was his being in the Country of Vietnam.

Well that’s a huge ‘misnomer’. There’s light years between serving peacetime and actually serving in a conflict. I served in peacetime but I don’t really consider myself a true veteran. Not when I look at what my pop & uncles went through in ww2.
