Strange that the Mayor of Covington has not apologized, his condemnation remains on the official city website. If public officials won't readdress their role in how ugly this got then they must be held accountable in the courts also. @Barnes_Law https://www.covingtonky.gov/news/2019/01/19/mayor-meyer-covington-appalled …

Here is a teachable moment--je should apologize sincerely and show these teens the respect he failed to show earlier.

Our faith emphasizes humility and truth. A heartfelt apology is clearly the right response. Yet this Diocese refuses to do so. US Bishops are constantly failing our youth with their hyper obsession with optics. Tend to your flock! Just freaking apologize!
-
A good mantra for the Catholic Church might be “we believe and support the children.” They have no risk of bad optics here except to do otherwise. Which is the same bad optics they already have, just a different angle.

To his credit, Rep. Thomas Massie
@RepThomasMassie has been a steadfast supporter of these kids. The school, the Archdiocese, the Mayor, and everyone who jumped on the Narrative, owes those kids an apology.Thanks. Twitter will use this to make your timeline better. UndoUndo
