I'm not Catholic, though I am Christian. I've always had a positive view of the Catholic Church, but lately its leadership seem more sensitive to the taunts of their critics than the welfare of their adherents. Not good.
As a mother of six children, that is exactly how I look at this situation. The diocese & Covington Catholic High School officials assumed these fine young ppl were guilty without even checking first—their own students. Disheartening!

The diocese owes those kids an apology. Kids were well behaved.
I hate to say this but don’t count on the Catholic Church to do what’s right these days.
If the kids were actually pedophiles, the church would have just ignored them.
Terrible optics. Catholic boy abused by professional activist who gets in his face banging drum to provoke confrontation. High profile priest publically says boy to blame, no attempt to protect from media onslaught. Pours gas on fire. Puts boy at risk. Not what parents want.
Will they sue? Media has to be accountable for their lies. This has to stop.
They’ll never get an apology from the media but I hope the diocese recognizes they aren’t at fault.
Those parents should bring a lawsuit for defamation.
