The hospital Rand Paul is going to is a private, pay by cash specialist and has nothing to do with universal healthcare but the Left doesn't seem to care about facts here

"Though Shouldice is a private, for-profit hospital, it does almost all of its work under contract with various provincial govts. Thus, the majority of the hospital’s income comes from patients who pay their bills through their govt-funded health plans" https://talkingpointsmemo.com/news/rand-paul-canada-for-surgery …

Easier for them to keep Randy's out of pocket expense down with all of those subsidized procedures from the gubmint.

What's your point? He's still leaving the country to seek health care from a system that famously provides it to every citizen. If he thinks his Cadillac Congressional policy isn't good enough, he ought to try having no insurance because he helped make even the ACA unaffordable.

The only ones who made Obamacare cost more is the Obama administration. Not one R voted for it before passed in 2010. Rand Paul is adamantly against it after passed and had no bearing on the fact that its being affordable was a blatant Obama lie.

Still is clear indication healthcare is being done better in Canada than the US or he wouldn't be going there - whether it's better trained doctors, better equipped hospitals, shorter waiting times, whatever - Canada is doing it better because or despite universal health care

This hospital is a special case. When rich Canadians get sick they run to America.. Our system is free but our care slow and in some cases can be deadly.
