It shouldn’t be a debate at all. The tax revenue wouldn’t even cover a small fraction of the costs of her proposals.

Not to mention - if the "tippy tops" are taxed at 70%, the unemployment rate will skyrocket. The loss has to be made up somewhere; employees are the most expendable overhead cost to an employer. But what do I know...? I have a BA in history, not international relations

Top earning Americans pay much more than their "fair share" - 50% of Americans pay no Fed taxes receiving Fed benefits free. TOP EARNERS PAY MOST THE FEDERAL TAXES & the Tax Reform Bill will have top earners pay an even HIGHER SHARE of income taxes in 2018https://www.wsj.com/articles/top-20-of-americans-will-pay-87-of-income-tax-1523007001 …

Bingo! And I know people who pay nothing and somehow get a “refund” with the tax credits. It’s own thing not to pay anything but to pay nothing and get free money??

Taking 70% of any portion of what anyone earns is wrong. "But they did it and more in the 50's" - it was still wrong.

I dont care what 70% of what dollar you are taxing it's still a 70% tax. Just because its not on the first dollar you earn is meaningless. No earnings should ever have to give 70% to the government that is criminal with that wasteful , liberal , cesspool of incompetence in place

U are probably paying close to that already via indirect/hidden taxes
