And continuing I saw a lot of people I care about dying and ruining their loves from drinking and driving in college. I think that cops should be willing to help the younger generation out to try and get home safe instead of setting speed traps to catch drunk drivers.

I think that new equipment should be made available to officers so they can determine a proper level of intoxication and by which substance. People are affected differently by their body makeup so it is hard to get a realistic reading of intoxication.

Police Officers also should not have to worry about people possessing small amounts of Marijuana or alcohol as it should be someones right to intake and possess what they desire. The law needs to be changed so Officers dont need to waste their time trying to enforce silly laws.

If Officers have the proper tools and are not restrained by stupid laws, they could spend more time going after large scale drug operations on Fentanyl, Heroin, and Opium. They could at least be more available on the local level to assist the FDA or the Feds. Fentanyl is AWFUL.

Police Officers absolutely have one of the most demanding jobs out there to protect and serve. We the people can not allow their duties to be hindered by an outdated and miserably failed war on drugs. That has translated into a war against the people's property.

Bottom Line for the personal side of this argument is that people should NEVER drive impaired under the influence of any substance, regardless of wether or not you feel like you can control it. It is unsafe for everyone if everyone on the road is not 100% able and sober.
