        May be technically correct map but very misleading unless you understand the massively distorted population distribution due to the desert. Large parts of Syrian south are barely inhabited and no one is 'in control' because they are not actually there.

        Everybody seems to be forgetting legal implications of presence of US military in Surya. According to the International law us military would be considered occupying force as it invaded sovereign state member of the UN system. Very tricky especially when using force as anything
