If someone can explain to me what exactly the US strategy is in Syria and Afghanistan to defeat radical Islam then we can talk about staying If not it’s not worth it to our troops to be in harm’s way without a clear goal of victory

Absolutely correct. Current strategy will never defeat radical Islam. Unless we’re serious about it bring everyone home

I would be happy if they just admitted that Asscrackistan was to be used as a testbed for new weapons and as a dumping ground for those weapons reaching their shelf life. At least that would make sense.....

This right here should be the response to any person, right or left, who claims we need to stay in Syria or anywhere for that matter. I have yet to hear even 1 real world plausible strategy. It's easy to say "reckless to pull out", but maybe just maybe, it was reckless to go in?

Trump-Edrogan phone call before troops withdrawal from Syria. Fight wasn't against Islamic ideology right in the first place. Rather, it was nurtured in an (undesirable) way. The troops in Syria, AFG were there for the ulterior motives of the establishment. Iraq emulated here.

By staying we are just wasting the lives of our young vibrant patriots while remaining the target of the local populous' hate. Maybe by withdrawing they will realize that extremists are the problem NOT the US.

The US strategy in Syria is to spend that $15.2 Billion allocated to the Syria misadventure. Actual Outcomes are a far distant concern..... The Military lobby won't pay itself now would it? Now you understand why they are all mad at Trump, he's messed with their bottom line. 💰

Also, with Trump's exit strategy, the UN and other international agencies are also gonna step back. Military observers deployed here and there. Syria and AFG have made the headlines. I am afraid something brewing in Yemen too. It is, as well gonna make some headline soon.

Simple. Arab Spring had begun to peter out, so Hillary wanted to goose it. Qaddafi died, so Obama figured he'd try the similar effort in Syria, but Assad was wise to it and survived. Then ISIS and everybody cheered when Obama went after ISIS and Assad. Then Trump. ISIS died.
