Well, Scott Adams says (mind reads) That Trump "knows" that facts don't matter. Yet we find that Trump is assuring his supporters that he is the only one who is a reliable source of facts. It is a contradiction, one that suggests that even Trump realizes people want accurate info

Facts are not effective in some matters, in and of themselves. And people are prone to biases, of course. But also it is possible to learn to think more critically, more rationally, and to be less swayed by your emotions. So "Facts don't matter" is overly simplistic.

But you mentioned predictive ability, so maybe we should just move on to Adams' many failed predictions. Predictions that would have falsified his theory about Trump being a Master Persuader if he were not so overcome by his own biases and irrationality.

I did not type any word salad, Ben. If Scott's view makes things so much easier to predict, why does he get so many predictions wrong?

No, I am most assuredly not. Scott is all about facts not mattering, lies not mattering, and appeals to emotion over rationality. He is full of contradictions, and demonstrates flawed thinking and poor argumentation.

Well, as Adams would say in one of his condescending quips, you forgot the reasons. How is persuasion filter theory, or whatever, compatible with fact based critical thinking?

Well, I would say that that is a misrepresentation. And that of course facts matter to human decision making. I mean, we use information. I mean, "persuasion" is about how *information* is presented, do you agree?
