I've known of police officers losing their jobs for accessing govt. databases for personal reasons, such as querying MVD license plate files for addresses. These are serious violations of trust. cc:

They certainly can be fired. It’s a myth that they can’t. “Just cause” & “Insubordination” get you there, even with a union. But, assuming arguendo that they can’t be fired, reassign them to dispersing paper clips until they get their “due process” hearing. Great work James!
