They aren’t protesting the flag. They’re protesting police brutality. It’s the president who’s protesting the flag. Any other questions?

That is not the message the are sending and it is the responsibility of the communicator to make sure they are understood. Why aren't they using their vastly more abundant resources to do something. There is a time and a place, during the National Anthem is not it.

Maybe they’ll stand for the Anthem if you tell ‘em they’re actually honoring McCain

And the right would be mourning/honoring Senator McCain but for the trump effect.
-
Wrong. McCain was a subpar pilot who was involved in the near destruction of an aircraft carrier. He got his position because of his father, and was responsible for the deaths of countless servicemen as a POW. Fuck him.

#TakeAKnee is not disrepecting the flag. You know. It is about giving a voice to the murdered black Americans, murdered by COPs who walk free. -
Perhaps they should take a knee at a police station, then.

"I am not going to stand up to show pride in a flag for a country that oppresses black people and people of color." — Colin Kaepernick to NFL Media, August 27, 2016 But they aren't protesting the flag... right... got it.
