40 foreign nationals failed background checks and the AP spun it as “Trump is purging immigrants from the military” Guess what, if a foreign national fails a background check they aren’t eligible for military service That’s not a purge That’s called national security

And PS - if Americans fail their background check, or any number of factors like credit score or health issues, they aren’t eligible for military service either Our military has a sacred charge to protect our country We screen for entry. We always have, and we should.

Maybe they need to update their background check parameters. https://www.militarytimes.com/news/pentagon-congress/2017/10/23/military-times-poll-one-in-four-troops-sees-white-nationalism-in-the-ranks/ …

Bullshit, Pentagon and the Army said that, due to the pending litigation, they were unable to explain the discharges or respond to questions about whether there have been policy changes in any of the military branches. No reasons given about failed background checks when asked.

Same thing happened when Veterans were being deported. Being a Vet doesn't protect you from the consequences of your actions. Commit a felony as a non-citizen -> get deported.

They were all active duty, some of which for years. That means they passed their back ground check. One was being discharged for having foreign connections because his parents and fiancé did not live in the US.
