Narrow is a term of art that refers to the court's reasoning and how broadly it is likely to apply to future cases. It's possible to have 9-0 decisions that are quite narrow, and 5-4 decisions that are quite expansive. Also, leaving this here ->https://twitter.com/DailyCaller/status/1003651202809131008 …

"It's possible to have 9-0 decisions that are quite narrow, and 5-4 decisions that are quite expansive." In fact I suspect those are the *likely* patterns. A far-reaching decision is likely to attract opposition, while it's easier to get everyone to agree with a narrow holding

Exactly. Those headlines are clearly referring to “narrow” as the margin between justices for & against. It cannot in any way be referring to the scope in the majority opinion. Our tribe is right as always.

Please, explain how "narrow" by definition means anything other then marginal split between judges? You would need to rewrite the definition of narrow.

Narrow: sticks to the facts of the case at hand Broad: provides context and guidance for similar cases Judges can have a unanimous decision on a narrow ruling, or a split decision on a broad one. Do you understand now? It's not a conspiracy. It's stuff they don't teach on Fox

You are exposing your political bias. The decision is narrow in the sense that it focuses on statements made by members of the Colorado Commission who heard the original case and doesn't address larger question of discrimination. Narrow doesn't mean the decision was close. Duh!

Note that in SC parlance, "narrow" means of limited application except to the parties in the lawsuits. It has nothing to do with the number of judges voting one way or another.
