I’m so old I remember that this was in response to Trump’s openly racist running lie that Obama was not born in America. It was called #birtherism. Remember? You and Trump kept at it for 5 years, @JackPosobiec. 👇🏼 See @billmaher’s joke was a twist on YOUR racism. Get it‽pic.twitter.com/lo3SQNN32g

I have lots of issues with @billmaher. But... The false equivalencies #MAGA always try to draw (in this case trying to tie Maher’s satire OF Trump’s overtly racist campaign against our first president of color) are the most obvious sign that #MAGA thinks Americans are dumb.

Again, calling Trump an Orangutan (which I’ve done myself, many times) is a direct counter to and satire of his openly and aggressively racist campaign to try and weave the lie that our first President of Color wasn’t born in America. You may not get it. But that’s ok.pic.twitter.com/j1gDolGeLe

Yeah, I totally caught the birther reference in Wanda's routine. She definitely wasn't comparing him to an ape in the literal sense, but making a subtle, satirical jab at his brazenly racist insult to our first "President of Color".

I understand why you don’t get it Alex. But, please, keep tweeting. I’m sure everyone on Twitter wants to hear you whitemansplain how the Black Gay comedian calling the infamously-self-spray-Orange Birther President an Orangutan is, in fact, racist.pic.twitter.com/It1vFKqadR

Your bravery is inspiring, Evan. What Twitter really wants, and needs, is more people setting the standards of the racial/sexual orientation identity totem so that we cave dwellers can finally learn our place.

Freedom of speech doesn't protect you from the consequences of that speech. Especial from an employer. If your gonna try to use the Constitution to defend yourself, maybe learn how the amendments actually apply in real world situations. Just a thought.

I am pretty sure the guy kneeling is suing the NFL because his freedom of speech cost him his job & a whole lot of money. According to your logic Rosanne can do the same. Employers have the right to fire. Employees have the right to sue. Win or lose, it’s the same defense. #1A
