    Interesting. I wonder if, when HMT created the Coronavirus Business Interruption Loan Scheme, they anticipated guaranteeing a £5m loan (and paying the first year's interest and fees) to a (new) property development company to build "luxury residential units in Hampstead".

    Very hard not to get sucked into this election business. Looking at how people voted in Georgia, more Trump supporters voted in person (Early or on Election Day), while more Biden supporters voted by Absentee ballot.

    what's the ethical status of a mink fur surplus created by a mass pandemic cull?

    Denmark orders military to kill all mink in the country after mutated, mink-passaged SARS-CoV-2 strain with supposedly poor antibody response (details pending) spreads back to humans. Extensive prior culling was unsuccessful in halting mink infections.

    Remember and a few people realizing last minute, in the pre-dawn hours when no one else was awake, that the planned genesis block message was too long and would have to be included as a hash...

    Four years ago, Zcash was launched from an Airbnb in Pacifica, just south of San Francisco. The kitchen, with its island that we could all sit around, and a TV on the wall, became "Mission Control".

    Other than that, the launch went smoothly. Initially, blocks were mined faster than expected as more and more mining power joined the network, but the difficulty adjustment algorithm worked as expected and the blocktime settled down. Some people caught some much-deserved 💤s. 😆
