Lemme make this clear: Unova's getting discussed again, but Palutena's relative difficulty recovering there wasn't the deciding factor for its removal from the Frostbite 2019 ruleset. Accessibility for folks with certain colorblindness and/or flash sensitivity was the target.https://twitter.com/Samsora_/status/1272408644865396738 …

then why not also ban hero for people with dyslexia? this is not me disliking the character, im perfectly fine and capable of fighting against him but i have a friend who is good at the game who literally loses to almost every hero player he faces because he has actual dyslexia

The honest answer is: it's mountains more complicated to ban a character than to ban a stage. Folks with dyslexia and other issues reading quickly are definitely at a disadvantage when it comes to Hero; I think the task would be proving that it undermines competitive integrity.

i see, would it make sense to argue that because those who have dyslexia and other reading issues are at an innate disadvantage, then that is a way in which this character undermines competitive integrity because not all players have an equal opportunity of winning?

I don't think basing the argument on the idea that all players have an equal chance at winning is a solid foundation. I have friends and acquaintances with hand mobility issues and with sight/hearing impairments... Realistically, they may never have an even playing field.

Realistically, the argument has to show that it is necessary beyond any doubt to have to be able to know what spells Hero has access to in order to enact counterplay, and that sounds like an uphill argument. Godspeed in that push, though...!
